Director and Lead Instructor

Hi, I’m Julie Sumsion, the founder of Beautiful Day Learning Center. Teaching and supporting adults with disabilities has been my passion for many years, inspired by my own family’s journey with our daughter and the belief that learning should never end. I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education and am a National Board Certified Teacher in Exceptional Needs, which has given me the knowledge and tools to create meaningful, engaging learning experiences. With both professional expertise and personal dedication, I’ve built a program where dignity, growth, and joy are at the heart of every day. I love spending time with my family, being outdoors, boating, and staying active through exercise.

Instructional Assistant

Hi, I am Ashley Stratton, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Family and Human Development and a Master’s degree in Education. With a strong foundation in human development and a passion for inclusive learning, I specialize in supporting adults with disabilities through personalized, compassionate, and strengths-based educational approaches. My goal is to create meaningful learning experiences that promote independence, confidence, and lifelong growth. I have lived in the Tri-Cities for 16 years and am a proud mama of 4 children. I enjoy backpacking, hiking, reading, traveling and spending time with my family.
